All of the video content you see on VIMBY has been created by the VIMBY nation. The VIMBY nation is a network of young, creative filmmakers, in house and around the country, whom we are empowering and giving a chance to show off their talents. We are challenging these Preditors (Producer, Shooter, Editors) to help us uncover what's happening in backyards all over America. There's no way that we could ever know your backyard as well as you do. That's why we are going to look to the VIMBY nation to bring subjects to our attention. The ideal Preditor or Preditor team will be able to research, produce, shoot, edit and complete segments with a quick turnaround. Each Preditor should own their equipment or independently find access to it. We want to find filmmakers who are members of the offline communities we are featuring. If you are immersed in the culture, you should never run out of stories to tell.

  • CARS – This show aims directly at the deep local automotive subculture...import tuners, low riders, muscle cars, drifting, etc.
  • FASHION – Profiles of trendsetting designers and boutiques, live events and forecasting in the worlds of streetwear, sneakers, vintage, and more.
  • MUSIC – Young adults' main gateway to everything happening in local music...baby bands, big bands, hottest venues, newest acts, etc.
  • LIFE – Everything from community happenings exploring great retail deals to issues pertaining to film, television, cable, and radio in young adults' own backyard.
  • TRAVEL – Spot checks on unique lodgings and tourist attractions for young people.
  • NIGHTLIFE – Exploring and uncovering the best bars, clubs, restaurants, lounges, and events in your backyard.
  • ACTIONSPORTS – Will capture the dynamic culture of extreme sports where you live.
  • ALTERNATIVE – A documentary style program that explores sexual mores, events and lifestyle as well as alternative subculture.

There are many reasons to become a member of our team. In addition to payment, we are offering contests based on audience response that will allow our Preditors to win free production equipment. We work closely with each of our filmmakers to improve their skill set and prepare them for them for video production in the new digital space.
