Putting Price Leadership to the Test

Walmart was looking for a new brand campaign that put price and quality at the center of its Facebook communications. To reinforce the company’s position as the low price industry leader, VIMBY created a live game show for Facebook Live. The series’ entire audience – made up of real shoppers joining in real time – became contestants with a weekly opportunity at a $5,000 grand prize.

VIMBY developed all aspects of the show’s visual identity while ensuring all aspects of the campaign stayed true to Walmart voice, positioning and brand promise. Weekly campaign elements, including UGC content, promotions and carousel ads were distributed through paid media following each episode’s LIVE premiere.

Project Outcome

In addition to generating near unanimous positive sentiment and a significant increase in price perception, the program’s reach, engagement and average completion rate outperformed prior benchmarks and over delivered on campaign KPIs.
